Satu Kalori Tidak Sama Dengan Satu Kalori !

Satu kalori adalah sebuah kuantitas energi. Energi dapat berada dalam berbagai wujud yang bisa saling dipertukarkan, wujudnya yang paling akrab adalah panas. Maka satu kalori umumnya dipandang sebagai sejumlah tertentu panas.

Akan tetapi, berapa tepat banyaknya panas yang dimaksud? Tanyalah pada ahli kimia maka Anda akan mendapatkan sebuah jawaban, tapi tanyakan juga pada ahli gizi, maka Anda akan mendapatkan sebuah jawaban yang jauh berbeda ! Mengapa?
Kalori orang kimia, yang sebaiknya kita sebut gram calorie adalah banyak panas yang diperlukan untuk menaikkan temperatur satu gram air (sekitar 20 tetes) sebanyak satu derajat celcius, akan tetapi itu energi yang kecil sekali, maka ahli gizi menggunakan food calorie: banyak panas yang diperlukan untuk menaikkan temperatur seribu gram air sebanyak satu derajat celcius.
Jadi, satu food calorie sama dengan seribu gram calorie.

Vegetarian

Nowadays, people decide to become a vegetarian. A vegetarian is someone who only eats vegetables, fruits, grains, cereal, nuts, and seeds. They do not eat and not use animals products. They do not eat fish, poultry, dairy products, and they do not wear cloths that made of fur or leather.

People become vegetarian based on many reasons. The reason for vetarianism may be related to morality, religion, ethnic, culture, health, and many more. Some of them choose it to success their diet.
People can controll their cholesterol, blood pressure, weight, and their metabolism after becoming vegetarians. They become healthier than before.
On the other side, many people want to be healthy and they do not want to be a vegetarian. Actually, there are many other ways to keep your health. You can keep eating meat that you like. If you are not a vegetarian, you have to excercise regulary to keep your cholesterol.
A vegetarian or not, we can stay healthy as long we controll our life style and see the doctor at least every six months to check our health.
